What to Expect During a Psychological Assessment?
Your assessment journey with an initial consultation—an opportunity for us to connect and discuss what you’re hoping to understand or achieve through the psychological assessment. From there, I'll gather a thorough history, so I can tailor the assessment process to your specific needs. Psychological tests are then used to explore various aspects of your mental abilities, personality, or neurological functioning, depending on what you're seeking clarity on.
All assessments are done in the privacy and comfort of my office, where I strive to make sure you feel relaxed. Snacks and breaks are always offered during our sessions to ensure your comfort throughout. A standard assessment takes three to six sessions, with each one lasting around two hours. We will decide together how many sessions will be best after our first meeting. When the assessment is complete, I will walk you through the testing results, diagnostic findings, and personalized recommendations, as well as answer any questions that you may have. Together, we can then build a treatment plan that feels right for you, whether that involves individual therapy, group support, or exploring other options like medication management.
Psychological testing can provide valuable insight, clarity, and direction for both children and adults. Whether you are pursuing ADHD testing, autism evaluations, cognitive assessments, neuropsychological testing, or emotional and personality assessments in San Francisco or the greater Bay Area, I am committed to providing thoughtful, comprehensive, and compassionate care throughout the process.
